How do I set up a HP printer to count the number of sheets that different computers print?

I would like to network my printer so that I can count who prints a certain number of sheets. Is there software or a function on HP printers to do such a thing?

The printer is networked through a Linksys Wireless router. Two users are using Macs and I am using PC.

You may just have to hire a programmer to build a custom software for you.

They would need to get access to the printer and monitor the printer spooler.
I have not heard of a pre configured software though.

How do I find which HP printer on C drive to uninstall?

July 15th, 2013 2 comments

I have an HP printer. My son borrowed a friend’s HP printer & plugged it into my pc but never used it. He didn’t have a disc for it.
Now I get a "send error report" for HP Cue almost every time I turn on pc & today "hpqtra08.exe" error, which is apparently related to the Cue, so a Google search reveals.
I have 6 HP items on my Control Panel but how do I work out which one to uninstall?
Would it be easier to uninstall ALL of them then just plug my printer back in? I have the disc for it.

I am assuming that you have no documents in the printer queue, if so you will need to cancel(clear them out).

Look at your printer, or its documentation(to know your printer number)

Start, Control Panel, Printers……the printer that you have should show up with a check next to it. That is the default printer. You may also see these as well: fax, MS Office Document Image Writer, Microsoft XPS Document Writer.

Delete any other HP printer by left clicking to highlight the printer, and then right click to delete.

Go to the site: http://www.hp.com/ and key in your printer. Find the drivers for your printer and download them.

Restart your computer, plug in your printer to your computer and see if the problem is resolved.

How can I hook up my laptop with my HP printer?

June 18th, 2013 2 comments

I’d like to hook up my laptop with my HP printer, but I lost the CD.

You can go to hp website and download the driver for your particular printer and also you need a usb cable depending how old your laptop or printer is.

what type of USB cable do you use to connect a acer aspire netbook to a hp printer?

May 21st, 2013 3 comments

I recently bought a acer aspire netbook and a brandnew Hp printer. My netbook didnt come with a usb cable and neither did the printer.in the netbook there is no disk drive eaither. so i was just trying to figure out what type of USB cord i should use to connect the two. thank you

You mean to tell me that no USB cable came with a NEW Hp printer? I find that hard to believe. Some kind of cable must have come with it, unless the printer is wireless. And if it’s wireless, your netbook must have the necessary wireless network adapter. Even if you did have all that stuff, you would need a disk drive to down load the setup/driver disk that came with the printer.

How do I print a return address (upper left corner) on an envelope using MS Word and an HP Printer?

April 24th, 2013 3 comments

I’m not sure if HP Printers can even print on an envelope – not sure how I would align envelope in printer but I was to print my address directly onto envelope using MS Word and HP printer. How?

At the top of your toolbars click on "Tools," move down & highlight "Letters and Mailings" and then choose "Envelopes and Labels…" Fill out the windows and follow the instructions.

However, I never liked that method myself, so here is another:
Select "File" then click on "Page Setup…" Now select the "Landscape" orientation, set your top and left margins to "0" click "OK" a window will popup to say the margins are out of printable area, select the "Fix" button to set them to the printer’s minimum, then click on the "Paper" tab on top, under "Paper Size:" choose the "Envelope #10" for a standard business envelope. Now you can setup the position, font size and style much easier with a WYSIWYG view of the envelope. Just my preferences.

Now load your envelope into the manual feed tray (if your printer has one), or the standard feed slot, and set the adjustable paper size guides to the envelope’s size (short edge goes in) and centers the envelope. You will need to know, or experiment, as to which side should be up and which end goes in first. Usually there is a pic or imprint on the printer showing which way, but if not there should be a description in the User’s Manual, or just experiment like I mentioned earlier (you can use a piece of paper cut to the same size as the envelope to not waste an envelope, be sure to mark it somehow so you know which side and end was where).

Best of luck.

How do u install a HP printer without the installation CD?

Does anyone know another way to install a HP printer without the installation CD?
I misplaced it so i cant find it ):

please help ! i really need my printer to work

thank you so much !

You can download it from the the HP website. Actually, it is always better to get

From www.hp.com select ‘Support and Drivers’.

Then select ‘Download drivers and software (and firmware)’

This is usually better than using the CD anyway. In case they updated their software after they made the CD you have the latest version.

Also, depending upon your printer make sure to select the right installation. Sometimes they have a full version of software or basic installation depending upon what you neeed. If you just need to print without some bells and whistles select the basic installation (driver) otherwise select full.

Downloading the software for hardware applies to any hardware you buy which requires a installation CD.

Is it possible to use HP printer with a Samsung Galaxy Tab without buying apps?

April 20th, 2013 1 comment

My dad just purchased a new Samsung galaxy tab and we own a HP printer. We could not figure out how to sync it using bluetooth to print from it. My brother and I came to the conclusion that you had to own a Samsung printer to be able to print from the Galaxy tab. Is this true? If not, could you please explain how to use our printer with the new Galaxy tab?
Thanks.

no, it much be a paid app, maybe if you root the galaxy tab, you might be able to find something but i doubt it.

How to install my HP printer without using the provided CD?

April 19th, 2013 5 comments

I just bought a new HP printer (Deskjet Ink Advantage 2010 – K010a). My CD drive isn’t working, so I was thinking, is there a downloadable installer for my printer? Please provide specific details. Thanks!

P.S. My computer has Windows 7 Home Premium, 32-bit.

you can download the installer from the hp website, all you have to do is type it into google, although if you are not bothered by all the extra useless features that they throw into the program and all you want to do is print, then you should be able to just connect the printer to your computer and it will work. Windows has many printer drivers preinstalled.

Here is a link to the drivers and software to download. (If you want the software)

Will a hp printer work with a dell computer?

April 17th, 2013 6 comments

I just got a dell computer should a hp printer work with a brand new 22′ dell computer??
:))
Please help!

Actually depends on which Operating System is on the Dell and whether HP has written drivers to support the OS. If it’s an older HP Printer and you are using Windows Vista, HP may not have written that Driver.

Second point, if it’s a older printer – that connects via Parallel; your new Dell may only have USB2. There are protocol converters that will allow you to connect a Parallel Port to the USB2 connector.

Where can i sell used ink cartridges for an hp printer to a legitimate company?

April 16th, 2013 1 comment

I want to sell some of my old used cartridges for an HP printer. I have a LOT of old ones and several friends of mine and I want to create a fundraiser for a local group with the cartridges if there is a way to get some money back out of the used ones. I need to find a legitimate company to sell them to. I know I’ve heard of a lot of charities that collect them, who do the charities sell them to? Is there a company online or something? Any advice or thoughts are appreciated.

A couple of different places buy back empty ink cartridges depending on which manufacture of cartridge you have. Try the link below , it’s a company who buys back the empty cartridges.
